ORTHOGNATHIC SURGERY
This session will be moderated by Dr. Nick Rutherford and Dr. José Bladimir Golaszewski
Session 1 Extended Orthognathic Surgery for Craniofacial Microsdomia Cases presented by Dr. Ricky Kumar
- Description of cases with craniofacial microsomia treated with extended orthognathic surgery (with concurrent TMJ reconstructions/ replacements)
Session 2 (Session to be announced soon) presented by Dr. Octavio Cintra
- TBA
Session 3 Considerations in Cleft Orthognathic Surgery presented by Dr. Alistair Varidel
- Othrognathic surgery in patients with repaired clefts presents a unique challenge. Managing these cases requires a thorough understanding of the idiosyncrasies in diagnosis, investigations, treatment planning, operative techniques and follow-up for these patients.
Session 4 Advances in Digital Assisted Surgery presented by Dr. Tianjia Zhang
- Advances in digital assisted surgery at Department of Craniomaxillofacial Surgery, Shanghai Nith People's hospital. The application of digital precision surgery in the diagnosis and treatment of maxillofacial malformations

IMPLANTS
This session will be moderated by Dr. Nathan Vujcich and Dr. Alfred Lau
Session 1 Short and Ultra Short Implants. Little Giants for Atrophic Maxillary Rehabilitation, presented by Dr. Marco Di Pascua
- Classification of implant lengths.
- Surgeries with different short and ultra-short implant systems.
- Rehabilitation in short and ultra short implants.
Session 2 Bicortical Implants presented by Dr. Alenjandro Vivas Rojo
- In several maxillar atrophy, subperiostal implants is an actual solution.
Session 3 Surgical Considerations for Single Tooth Immediate Implants presented by Dr. Michael Hurrell
- TBA
Session 4 Alveolar Reconstruction with Block Graft presented by Dr. Nicolas Bachur
- Alveolar reconstruction with block graft is an ideal alternative to obtain a correct volume of bone tissue and in this way a three-dimensional placement of our implants, with their correct function, aesthetics, and predictability.
There are different techniques and obtaining sites, but they all provide us a solution to maxillary ridge defects.
Session 5 Osseodensification: An Alternative in Implantology presented by Dr. Gustavo Bustamante
- This presentation will present the biological bases and the main protocols of osseodensification as a drilling technique in areas of low bone density and other alternative techniques.

ADVANCES IN TECHNOLOGY/ONCOLOGY
This session will be moderated by Dr. Martin Batstone and Dr. Salvatore Crimi
Session 1 Bioresorbable Metals in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery presented by Dr. Alex Bobinskas
- Polymer based resorbable systems have a number of drawbacks which limit their use. Research has now turned to the investigation of bioresorbable metals for use in oral and maxillofacial surgery. This presentation will provide and update and overview into the development of bioresorbable metals
Session 2 Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy for Oral Cavity Cancer presented by Dr. Michael Markiewicz

Session 3 Virtual Reality: Digital Surgical Planning (VR-DSP) presented by Dr. Tim Manzie
- Virtual reality has become increasingly popular in medical education and surgical planning. This presentation will outline the potential benefits of embracing this technology for surgical planning and for the creation of custom guides and hardware.
Session 4 Updates of Virtual Surgical Planning for Enhanced Precision in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery presented by Dr. Teddy Weifa Yang
- This presentation will introduce our workflow of virtual surgical planning for daily practice in oral and maxillofacial surgery. A new approach for automatically analyzing skeletal asymmetry using Python scripting will be introduced to facilitate surgical evaluation and planning. We will also provide a brief update on our progress in automating 3D cephalometric evaluations to standardize preoperative surgical planning and postoperative accuracy verification.
Session 5 3D Technology in Oncological Reconstructive Surgery presented by Dr. Salvatore Bataglia
- 3D technology has lately improved outcomes in reconstructive surgery. This presentation will report the evolution of 3D technology and the timeline of achievements in reconstructive head and Neck surgery, focusing on the modern technologies and reporting the Catania experience.
