Summary: The topic of opioid addiction has become one that has been prevalent in the medical community for years. In North America, opioid addiction has developed into a nationwide crisis. Irrespective of where you practice, we all must ask ourselves how to effectively treat pain while having a conscious eye on the possibility of addiction.
Additionally, the World Health Organization now recognizes pain management and the growing addiction to opioids as a significant area of concern and further work. The differences between acute and chronic pain need to be understood and managed accordingly. Join this panel of experts, moderated by Dr. G.E. Ghali, as they discuss this importance topic and its implications for OMF surgeons around the globe.
